President's Day - Lack of Excitement

Are you really excited by this holiday? I am consistently trying to find out why there is no excitement for this holiday. Of course, if you have a full-time job, you could certainly find ample reasons to celebrate. In terms of weather and climate conditions throughout most of these United States is too cold to BBQ. I am sure that going to the beach is not a good idea w (ith the exception of wave crazy surfers) There are no parades. It seems to appear in San Francisco that the Gay Pride Parade has more significance than Presidents Day.

So far, I have not had one person wish me a Happy Presidents Day. The irony of this is that people will be quick to say Happy Halloween. (which is not a national or state holiday) Which leads to me to ask this one major question. HAVE YOU EVER MET A PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?

ONLY THE BEGINNING FOR A NEW VALENTINE

Today is Valentine's Day and the world is in love again. Or so people make think. It's a day when men and women buy flowers, jewelry, chocalates and other assorted items to show their appreciation to their spouses. Now when you get right down to it, shouldn't everyday be Valentine's day? Do huband and wives still agrue, fuss and fight on that day? I have not grasp the idea that somebody or something dictates on what day I should be romantic. Do you really need a designated day to remind you on how to be sweet to your spouse? Somehow I can't help but compare Valentine's Day with Thanksgiving. I mean, you should be thankful everyday. Why do people say HVD to people who are single or lonely? Let's retink our approach to how we treat our spouses and loved one.s How about doing something sweet everyday for a chance. Here's an idea. Go visit someone who has lost a spouse/lover recently and you know thtat Valentines Day will never be the same for them. Make them feel wanted and loved.

Happy Valentines Day.
